50 Of The Most Important Influential Albums Of All Time Ever
(completely limited to my strange taste in music, please dont ask my why I didn’t include The Rolling Stones)

49. The Promise Ring - “Arms & Danger” from Very Emergency.
When this record was released I was working at Liberation records as sort of a project manager for their new Garage rock label, but basically I was just a paid intern. Back in the days before internet leaks, working at a record label meant getting promos from other labels MONTHS before release date. Fortunately this was before leaks but after CD burners (you kids don’t know what it was like). When this came in I was like “eh, fuck this emo stuff, I should burn this for Trevor though he’ll like it.” On the way to Trevor’s however, I put it on and said to myself “Heyyy, this is pop punk!” I never really liked their previous record or the record that followed, but “Very Emergency” remains high up on my list of records I can pretty much always listen to.
