Phazer Blast #3, late 1997 (or early 1998). My best issue? I was getting better. "The Failed Costa Mesa Issue" I like to call it. The only time my zine got reviewed in Punk Planet. Besides my girlfriend at the time helping out, and Patrick Hynes of Lookout! Records doing the cover, I did this all by myself.

Highlights: Advertising a 7" coming soon that I never put out becuase Supernova was probably just being nice saying they'd give me songs. Having major label ad rates as well as indie ones (did I really think majors would WANT an ad?). And Kristin's retarded comic and Hanson article.

The Servotron interview (which ended up killing the "Costa Mesa Issue" idea) and the 4 interview were the funniest and most fun interviews I had ever done. I actually had enough stuff to review for 3 pages of reviews. And the 2 ads were actually paid for. Good times. This marked the end of high school and the end of my print zine making. Phazer Blast online was originally supposed to be an online zine. It never really happened. Hopefully future features will make up for that.

ahhh nostalgia .
